It was a massive upset, on Sunday night, in Alexandria, Egypt, as lowly rated Madagascar humiliated the Super Eagles by 2-0.
The match was one in which the Eagles looked very ordinary and lacklustre from kick off. Match rusty Leon Balogun started the show of shame with his 11th minute blunder that gave Madagascar the lead.
Wilfred Ndidi came in and compounded Eagles woes as he deflected a free kick into his own net. A camp source disclosed minutes after the game that Eagles poor show didn’t come to him as a surprise as they were more interested in dollars they would have raked in after the match.
The players we gathered had after the bonus row before the game against Guinea have been hammering on the NFF making sure their money is intact and ready to hit their accounts after every game.
“Now that they lost, I wonder if they would want to be paid losing bonus,” our source stated. With the result against Madagascar, the Eagles have played themselves into trouble as they are now likely to face Ghana in the round of 16 on Saturday. Everything points to the over pampered boys not being able to withstand Ghana.
