As unemployment bites harder, Nigerian youths are in a mad rush to take up jobs with the Nigerian Police force, despite the terrible human rights and corruption record of the security outfit.
The force announced on Friday that it has an opening for yet another 10,000 police personnel to beef up security across the country.
In a statement, the Force spokesperson, Frank Mba, disclosed this on Saturday in Abuja.
The Force says it is planning to recruit 10,000 Constables.
The exercise which commenced in 2020 had already passed through various stages with the last one conducted in August of the same year.
The exercise was halted during the administration of the former IGP, Mohammed Adamu, due to disagreement with the Police Service Commission.
In the statement, Mr Mba said the portal would be closed on 26 October while the exams will be held on 29 and 30 of the same month.
Google trend searches show that most Nigerians are searching for police jobs. Nigeria Police recruitment stands on number four on the search engine giant.
Nigeria Police is ranked one of the most corrupt and highest abusers of human rights in the world.
However, due to the hard economic situation in the country, most youths in the country do not care to take jobs with security outfits.
Unemployment stands at 33.3% in Nigeria made worse by rising inflation and insecurity in parts of the country.
