Lockdown: Lagos govt. set to prosecute drivers of impounded vehicles

The Lagos State Government has concluded arrangement to prosecute all owners and drivers of impounded vehicles during the second phase of the COVID-19 lockdown.

The suspects, who were arrested between April 15 and May 3, 2020, will be arraigned at the Lagos State Mobile Courts, Bolade, Oshodi.

According to a statement issued by the Lagos State Task Force, on Friday, the Lagos State Mobile Courts would commence sitting on the impounded vehicles on Monday, May 11, 2020.

Part of the statement says: “ The Lagos State Environmental and Special Offences (Enforcement) Unit (Taskforce) is therefore advising vehicle owners/drivers whose vehicles fall into the categories of those impounded to present themselves at the Lagos State Mobile Courts, Bolade, Oshodi and desists from loitering around the Agency’s car parks across the state.”
