Popular American theologian, Creflo Dollar, has apologised to his followers for misleading them over the years concerning the teaching of tithe in Christendom.

While addressing his congregation in a viral video, Creflo said he has come to understand the teaching of tithing was not correct. He, therefore, asked his followers to destroy all books and tapes he has written supporting tithing, saying that tithing is not biblical.

Creflo Dollar said: “Today, I want to tell you that I am still growing. The teachings I have shared in time past about the subject of tithing were not correct. Today I stand in humility to correct some things I have taught and believed over the years but could never understand clearly because I have not yet been confronted with the gospel of grace.

I have no shame in telling you to throw away every book and tape I have made on tithing. I may lose some friends and preachers may not invite me anymore but it does not matter,” he said

Creflo Dollar is a known property preacher whose faith teachings is said to have inspired many to donate to his church even buying him a private jet.

It is recalled first it was Benny Hinn who in 2019 changed his theology and renounced the prosperity message.

It should be recalled that The Nigerian Xpress reported that the spiritual Director of Adoration Ministry, Enugu, Nigeria, Rev. Fr. Ejike Mbaka, has dissociated himself from the protest that happened at his worship centre, on Sunday.

Recall that followers of Fr. Mbaka had, last Sunday morning, protested against the ban imposed on the ministry by the Catholic Bishop of Enugu Diocese, Most Rev Callistus Onaga.

Bishop Onaga had, on Saturday, in his pastoral injunction, enjoined all Catholics to stop visiting the ministry till further notice and advised all Catholic faithful to pray for Mbaka.

Reacting in a statement he signed, on Sunday evening, Fr. Mbaka asked his followers to remain calm and obey Bishop Onaga.
