A Lagos-based Lebanese, Mr. John Greg, was the hit-and-run driver, involved in an accident that crushed the leg of a lady, Omotomi Akinsanya.
The incident happened, on Wednesday, morning on the Sanusi Fafunwa Road in the Victoria Island area of Lagos State.
Greg reportedly drove against traffic, hit Akinsanya and sped off, leaving the young lady in a pool of blood.
The suspect was immediately chased by passersby and motorists who arrested him and handed him over to the police.
Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Banjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the arrest of Greg in a statement, on Thursday.

The police spokesman said the suspect’s vehicle, a Toyota 4Runner, had been impounded and the Embassy of Lebanon in Nigeria had been informed.
Hundeyin said Akinsanya was rushed to the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital and was still receiving treatment as of press time.
The PPRO said, “On May 4, 2022, at about 0745hrs, a middle-aged Lebanese by name John Greg ‘m’ drove a Toyota 4Runner recklessly and against traffic on Sanusi Fafunwa Road thereby hitting one Omotomi Akinsanya ‘f’ which resulted in serious injuries to her leg.
“He sped off but was chased and arrested. Suspect in our custody. Vehicle impounded and in our station. Victim undergoing treatment at LASUTH. Victim’s family duly informed. Embassy of Lebanon duly informed. Investigation ongoing.”
