No fewer than 5,000 persons comprising youths, widows, elderly and indigent of Ebonyi State extraction, on Friday benefited from the empowerment scheme of the Lawmaker representing Ezza South/Ikwo federal Constituency in the House of Representative Comrade Chinedu Ogah.
Addressing the beneficiaries mostly members of his Constituency who thronged his country home Item Amegu in Ikwo local government Area of the state , Comrade Ogah (elected on the platform of the All Progressive Congress APC), said that he embarked on the programme to alleviate the suffering of the people.
According to him, “the empowerment programme was to appreciate members of the constituents for their support during the election, reduce poverty. restore hope to the downtrodden”

“We are empowering people, we give scholarships to students to pursue their academic programmes. we are stepping the policies and programmes of the APC led federal government to the grassroot”
Comrade Ogah said that the empowerment programme would help to reduce poverty and enhance the living condition of the people.
The Lawmaker said that the National Assembly adopted his motion on the floor of the House to intervene in the boundary crisis that erupted between the people of Oferekpe in Ebonyi state and their neighbours of Obubra in Cross River State.
In a speech during the occasion, the APC Zonal Chairman Mr John Nwede, extolled the leadership qualities of Comrade Ogah describing it as society driven.
He described the initiative as commendable stressing that the Constituency had benefited immensely since the emergence of Ogah as the representative of the people.
Items distributed at the occasion included tricycles ( popularly known as Keke Napep), Grinding machines, motorcycles, rice, wrappers, tomatoes, and undisclosed amount of cash among others.
Two of the beneficiaries Mr Stephen Nwali, who received a tricycle and Mrs Angela Nwankpuma got Grinding machine commended Comrade Ogah for the initiative and quality representation.
” This empowerment which we are beneficiaries would go a long way in cushioning the effects of the harsh Economic conditions prevalent in the country.” they emphasised.
Highlights of the occasion was the distribution of various gift items directly to the beneficiaries by Hon Chinedu Ogah in addition to prayers to God for a successful outing in the National Assembly.
In attendance at the occasion included constituents from the 31 Electoral Wards that make up the Constituency ,youth organization, representative of the Ebonyi State Commandant of Federal Road Safety Corp, APC stalwarts in different states of the Federation among others.
The occasion witnessed cultural displays dancing competition, rendition of Carol’s music to reflect the mood of the Xmas celebration among others.
It would be recalled that the Appeal Court Enugu Division in November 2019, in a ruling declared Comrade Chinedu Ogah , the winner of the March 2019 National Assembly election for Ezza South/Ikwo Federal Constituency of Ebonyi State.
