Lagos socialite, Bose Osinowo celebrates mum on 75th birthday

The saying that ‘as you make your bed, so you lie on it’ was evidently manifested, on Sunday, November 21, 2021, in the life of Alhaja Oluranti Akintoye, who is biological mother of a Lagos socialite, Supt. Apostolic Mother Bose Osinowo.

It was a day would linger for a long time to come in the minds of Mama Olorun Ko Sebi, as Alhaja Akintoye is fondly called, and the crème of the society that made it to the get-together.

Looking radiant in her golden embroiled damask, with a perfect shoe to match, Senior Mama (as others like to call her) looked far younger than her 75 years of age.

Occasionally, Senior Mama would got up from her golden chair and took to the dance floor to the admiration of attendees at the get-together and some well-wishers who managed to have glimpses of the party.

Of course, the event was designated ‘low key’, but trust oil magnate Bose Osinowo, a socialite herself, she attracted the crème of the Lagos socialites and some prominent clergies especially in the Cherubim & Seraphim organisation, particularly the large turnout of members of the Saviors Ministries C&S, Alausa, who joined her to celebrate her mother.

OSINOWO

It was not in doubt that Mama Olorun Ko Sebi was over-joyed as she was swarmed over with several grandchildren and great grandchildren as well as several family members and Senior Mama’s own family lineage that literally turned the event to a ‘reunion’ of a sort.

The event was literally kicked off when the celebrant sauntered into the arena from her upper terrace mansion and was welcome by a dance troupe from Sagamu. It is no coincidence as Senior Mama is also a native of Sagamu.

The dance troupe, which sang dirge in reverence to Mama Olorun Ko Sebi, caught well-wishers napping with their performance. They were really a beauty to behold.

After their emotive performance came the Islamic clerics, numbering about 25, young and old, who came to offer prayers to Alhaja Akintoye. Their prayers, which came in torrents, lasted about one and half an hour, as leaders of the teams took their turn to eulogise the celebrant for her steadfastness, astuteness and dexterity in the lifting the work of Allah in the community.

MADAM AKINTOYE

The Alfas did not forget to shower praises for Bose Osinowo who, they said though now a staunch Christian, but had sent several dozens of people on pilgrimage to Mecca, in Saudi Arabia. Of course, some of the clerics travelled far to get to Abaranje, in Ikotun area venue of the birthday bash.

After the rendition of prayers, the Alfas gave way for the popular Disc Jockey, invited for that purpose, to trill guests who had a lot to munch. But before the dance floor was opened, Bose Osinowo took the microphone to pour encomium on the woman through who she came into the world. Osinowo recalled the ‘tortuous’ journey with her mother when she (Bose) was a toddler all through the agonising years both her and her mother hawked items on the streets of Lagos while Senior Mama battled hard to take care of her and her young ones and other siblings. Osinowo was full of praises for her mother who she described as the ‘best mum in the world’ which drew huge applause from the audience. Of course, she did not forget to tell the audience how harsh and discipline her mother had been all her life and her highhandedness with which she took care of her children and which eventually paid off for them today as they are all successful in their various endeavours.

While Bose Osinowo was about to call on the disc jockey to set the ball rolling, Senior Mama hurried grabbed the microphone saying she also had some comments to make. Everyone soon bust into great laughter.  Holding the microphone, Mama Olorun Ko Sebi joyfully thanked God for the surprise package that the party was and thanked her daughter, Bose, immeasurably for the birthday bash.

She also was full of appreciation to her other children and members of her family and especially for those she said were friends of her daughter and making her happy in various forms. Of course, she did not hesitate that her daughter (Bose) has taken after in her highhandedness, which made everyone on seat bust into further great laughter.

For many that attended the short-noticed get-together, there was hardly any victual that was provided for, both in food and drinks. As is customary of Bose Osinowo, she distributed varieties of souvenirs to mark the event.

Some of the prominent names that graced the occasion were High Chief Marufdeen Akanni Eleja, Alhaji Tajudeen Dele, Mr. Kunle Charity of Muzak Petroleum, Alhaji Salvador of MRS oil, Mr. Akin Fasawe, proprietor of Dapson oil, and several men of timber and calibre that joined in the celebration.

From the religious plain were Elder Apostle Taiwo Akinsola (Omo Baba Woli ni Ilasamaja) and his dashing wife, Elder Taiwo Ojomo (Baba Lese Kese); Prophetess Kehinde Osoba, Apostolic Mother Funmi Fatungashe; Apostle Gbenga Aluko of Saviours Ministries C&S Alausa, and a host of their members.
