The Lagos State Government has set machineries in motion to combat cultism and kidnappings, says Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
To this end, the governor will, in the coming days, make declaration on strategies to contain the menace.
At an interdenominational thanksgiving service, on Sunday, in honour of Governor Sanwo-Olu, at the headquarters of Deeper Life Church organised by the Lagos State chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), the governor said he would, in the coming days, make pronouncement  on security, adding issues bothering on cultism and kidnappings will be curtail by his administration.
“We are going to make pronouncements around security in the coming days. We will make definite declaration on security so that issues around cultism and kidnappings does not come to Lagos.
“Lagos is a home to the less and the mighty. We will try to make your Lagos, our Lagos, the best you can imagine,” he said.
The governor further reiterated his stance on zero tolerance violating environmental and traffic laws, adding offenders would be made to serve their sentences at the spot where the offence was committed.
In his sermon, Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria, Lagos State chapter, His Eminence, Apostle (Prof.) Alexander Bamgbola, urged the governor to ‘run with God’ in governing the state so he could finish well.
“Life is a race. A politician is running a race. We have seen men starting well but ends badly. Solomon started well buy he ended badly.
“Your Excellency, you have started well, you will end well. The Lord has chosen you to rule Lagos so serve your generation according to the will of God. To run a race and finish well, you must run it with God justly,” he urged.
