Lagos agog as Senator Frank Ibezim’s niece weds
The city of Lagos was literally lit up at the weekend when Miss Ezinne Amarachi Nwachukwu, the niece of Senator Frank Ibezim, wedded her heartthrob, Ndubuisi David Diobi.
The couple tied the nuptial knot at Anglican Church of Nativity in Parkview Estate, Ikoyi, at simple but classy ceremony witnessed by eminent personalities, including Senator Frank Ibezim, Elisha Abbo, Senator Ajibola Bashiru, Minister of State for Education, Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba, and Hon. Chidi Nwaogu.
Others are parents of the couple, Sir Maduakolam Nwachukwu and Lady Chibuzo Nwachukwu (bride’s parents) and Sir Chukwunweike Diobi and Lady Chinyere Diobi (Groom’s parents); Barr. Pastor and Pastor Mrs. Emma Ibezim and Chief Mike Ibezim, among several others.
The officiating minister, Rev. Joel Anele, who is the Curate of Anglican Church of Nativity, Parkview Estate, Lagos, emphasised love and submission driven by understanding as the key to a successful marriage.
Drawing inspiration from John 5:9, the Curate urged the couple to anchor on God’s love in all their dealings if they hope to have successful marriage.
He admonished the couple on the need to always show compassion to each other in love and submission.
He advised Ndubuisi to love his wife and Ezinne to submit to Ndubuisi, her husband, noting, however, that it is difficult for a wife to submit to a husband who does not love her as much as it is difficult for a husband to love an non-submissive wife.
Therefore, the cleric added, being head of the home, the man should comfort himself in a manner that his wife would be ready to submit to through his kind and loving acts.
He said: “If a woman is not secured in her husband’s house, she cannot be submissive. Love is wonderful, but the main thing in marriage is understanding.”
Rev.Anele also stressed the need for understanding, saying:“Can two work together except they agree? You must understand each other. Understand why you are in marriage. As a man you can’t keep late night anymore and hang out with friends.”
Likewise, he enjoined Ezinne to factor her in-laws as members of her new family and to imbibe the rudiments of marriage.
Thereafter, he blessed the couple, praying for healthy, peaceful and fruitful union.
The reception at Havillah Events Centre, Oniru in Victoria Island was very elaborate. The bridal dance was done amidst romantic fireworks. There were assorted sumptuous meals and drinks.
