Kwara confirms 4 COVID-19 cases

The Kwara State Committee on COVID-19  has announced confirmation of the pandemic in the state.

A report chart‎ made available to journalists in Ilorin showed that 33 people were screened, four confirmed while 29 tested negative.

These ‎were no pending case and no death case had been recorded.

The state had been placed on total lockdown since Friday following the alleged unprofessional handling of a suspected COVID-19 patient who died in the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital (UITH) before tests could be carried on him.

He was also said to have been hurriedly buried in Offa even the hospital staff that handled his case neither took precautionary measures before and after treating him.

Government had intensified contact tracing of the deceased’s friends and relatives including the hospital staff said to have forced to self isolations.
