#KogiDecides2023: APC leads as INEC counts votes from 18 LGAs

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has surged ahead in the Kogi State governorship election with results from the 18 local governments so far as announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The APC won in 11 out of the 18 local government areas results counted so far while the Social Democratic Party (SDP) was victorious in six.

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) won one.

Results are being awaited from the remaining three local government areas.

According to the results from INEC, while the APC candidate, Ododo Ahmed Usman, polled 417,166 votes, SDP’s Murtala Ajaka has so far scored 208,503 votes.

The candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Dino Melaye, who lost his Ijumu local government area has so far scored 41,925 votes.

Usman was victorious in Okehi, Ajaokuta, Okene, Basa, Kogi, Mopa, Adavi, Ijumu, Kabba-Bunu, Yagba West and Ogori Magongo local government areas.

Ajaka won in Dekina, Ankpa, Olamaboro, Omala, Ofu and Idah local government areas.
