Kogi House of Assembly Complex razed

The Kogi State Legislative House has been razed by fire.

The sad information was contained in a statement signed by the state’s Commissioner for Information, Hon. Kingsley Fanwo.

The statement, according to the Commissioner, was to inform the people of Kogi State and indeed Nigerians generally that the Kogi State House of Assembly has been razed down by fire.

The sad occurrence, the release added, happened in the early hours of Monday 10th October, 2022.

The commissioner also informed that,

Security and technical experts are currently working hard to unravel the cause(s) of the inferno which has caused significant damage to the legislative Complex.

“The State Government will inform the general public of findings as they unfold,” the release stated,  urging the general public to be calm, law abiding and resist the temptation of being lawless as the Government is capable of dealing with the likely outcome of the investigations.

The statement also added that the state Government will also make provision for temporary arrangements to ensure legislative business is not completely halted as a result of the unfortunate incident.

Recall that Kogi State has been in the news in the recent time for sad occurrences ranging from devastating flood to crisis over the ownership of a cement factory between the state and the Africa’s richest man, Alhaji Aliko Dangote.
