The second edition of the Federal Ministry of Education Games (FEDUGA) will be officially declared open on Monday, 19th, August, 2019 (today) by the Governor of Kogi State Alhaji Yayaha Adoza Bello.
The Games will hold from 19th to 23rd August in Lokoja, the Kogi State Capital.
According to a statement by the Games Consultant, Okeyinka Mathew and made available to our correspondent, the decision to award the hosting right to the state followed financial assurances given to the organisers by the Kogi State Government.
“We have received full financial and logistics support from the Kogi State Governor, His Excellency Governor Yahaya Adoza Bello, who even promised to be present to officially declare the Games open.

“With the assurances we got from the State Government, we’re now ready to go and all logistics for the Games has been put in place for a successful tournament.
Meanwhile, Media consultant of the Games, Pastor Faith Udochukwu Emmanuel said that choosing Lokoja for the second edition of FEDUGA games is the right choice due to it’s proximity to Abuja, which will encourage all the participants to turn up en- mass for the six day Games.
“The city of Lokoja will come alive on Monday as over 15,000 athletes and officials from different Parastatals, Department and Agencies in Federal Ministry of Education in the country will converge for the second edition of FEDUGA Games which will be a memorable one due to its proximity to Abuja,” he said.
Athletes are expected to compete in 14 scoring events and four demonstration games just as the team manager of defending champions in soccer event Prof. Nabath Tenlega of National Open University of Nigerian, has promised they will retain their title.
