The mother of a former member of Bayelsa State House of Assembly, Kate Owoko, has been killed by her abductors.
It was gathered that the 78-year-old woman, who had been held hostage in the last two months, over disagreement on ransom, was kidnapped at her residence on April 18 before she was eventually killed.
Her body was said to have been deposited at the bank of the river in Amassoma, Southern Ijaw Local Government Area of the state.
When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer, Butswat Asinim, confirmed the incident.
