Chairman, State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), in Kebbi State, Alhaji Sani Dododo, said that the state government had disbursed cash assistance to 688 people affected by fire outbreaks and other national disasters in the state.
Dododo told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), in Birnin-Kebbi, on Tuesday, that the gesture was a demonstration of the magnanimity and compassion of Governor Atiku Bagudu to the victims.
He explained that allocation of fund was categorised according to the gravity of the disaster suffered by each victim.
The chairman said that 21 victims with severe cases leading to fatalities, received between N1 million and N3 million each.

According to him, others with less severe cases received between N500,000 and N1 million each.
He extended the condolences of the state government to the families of those who lost their lives and prayed Allah to grant their souls eternal rest.
Meanwhile, Alhaji Mustapha Zauro, who lost his wife and twin daughters in one of the fire outbreaks, told NAN that he received N3 million cash assistance from the government.
He commended the government for providing succour to them and prayed Allah to continue to guide and protect the nation and its leaders. (NAN)
