The chairman Kano Concerned Citizen Initiative (KCCI), Alhaji Bashir Othman Tofa, who also former presidential candidate of the defunct National Republican Convention (NRC) alongside prominent citizens of the state, have called on political leaders not to see Saturday’s re-run governorship election as a do-or-die affair.
They politicians were also urged not set the state ablaze because of desperate ambition to win at all cost.
Alhaji Tofa, while addressing journalists on Monday, however. warned against any external forces planning to dabble or intervene in the re-run election to stay away from the state, assuring that the people of Kano State would not condone such interference.
According to him , security agencies must be seen to be upright and above board and be non-partisan. While noting that the security agencies had done well in previous elections, he however said that the re-run exercise might prove to be more arduous and daunting for them.

The KCCI also called on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to ensure that all necessary logistics were on ground to avert a re-occurrence of anomalies, irregularities and unfavourable utterances that characterised the inconclusive election in the state.
