The Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC), in Kano State, has rejected the plan by the Inspector General of Polic, Mr. Usman Alkali Baba, to post one Mr. Kolo Yusuf to the state as the new Commissioner of Police.
The IPAC is made up of 18 opposition political parties.
In a statement signed by 15 of the 18 political parties after a meeting held in Kano, the association stated that while it appreciate efforts of Mr. Alkali Baba, the AIG Zone I, and the CP of Kano State, as well all other security agencies in bringing about relative peace to Kano and environs, but it rejected the move by the police boss, the governor and some powerful individual in Kano to bring Mr. Kolo to the state.

The association cited an international case involving the gruesome murder of one Abdullahi Alfa which they claimed Mr. Kolo was involved in and was before a Federal High Court.
The IPAC also stated that past leaders in the state such as late Alhaji Bashir Othman Tofa and the Emirate Council during the reign of Late Emir Alhaji Ado Bayero, had written to Mr. Alkali Baba and the Police Service Commission (PSC) for Mr. Kolo to be transferred from Kano State Police Command.
“All these are because of his serious bad records on human rights violations and flagrant disregard to the rules of law and humanity,” the statement stated.
The IPAC, therefore, urged IGP Alkali Baba to “post any officer who is of good character, discipline and law abiding with track records of excellence for him to continue with the good work of the present Commissioner of Police, CP Samaila Dikko who is about to retire.”
