The Kano State Government has dethroned Emir Muhammad Sanusi II.

Emir Sanusi’s removal from the throne came on Monday by the state government, ending a long standing feud between the state government and the deposed Emir.
The Kano State Executive Council had approved the dethronement of the Emir, at a special sitting held, on Monday.
Before the dethronement, there was crisis in the Kano State House of Assembly, on Monday, over the issue.
As of the time of filing this report, security had been beefed up at the House of Assembly complex.
It was learnt that the fight broke out during a debate on the report of the Chairman of Kano State Public Complaints and Ant-Corruption Commission.
