The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt.-Gen. Tukur Buratai and the Inspector General Police (IGP), Adamu Muhammed, were the two notable faces absent at the meeting called between the Service Chiefs and the House of Representatives.
The meeting was meant to discuss national security issues.
According to Speaker Femi Gbajabiamila, the meeting was aimed at finding out how the National Assembly could be of help in the fight against insecurity and also ask why there were still growing concerns of insecurity in the country despite the claims of success made by the military.

The meeting held behind closed doors in one of the meeting rooms of the National Assembly.
The service chiefs had, earlier, on Friday, shunned the invitation by the House of Representatives, a situation which the Speaker Gbajabiamila described as an ‘insult to the Parliament’.
He then promised to report the matter to President Muhammadu Buhari.
