President Muhammadu Buhari’s efforts at curtailing the spread of the dreaded Coronavirus seem to be getting some international commendation as he has been appointed by Heads of Governments of West African States as coordinator the COVID-19 response in the sub-region.
This was made known, on Thursday, by Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, from his verified twitter handle, @FemAdesina.
It reads, “ECOWAS leaders at an extraordinary summit held by video conference have appointed President Muhammadu Buhari as Champion that will coordinate the COVID-19 response in the sub-region.
“All the other Presidents will be available to support President Buhari.”
President Buhari’s appointment into the role took place at the Extraordinary ECOWAS Summit on COVID-19 which was held via teleconferencing under the Chairmanship of H.E. Mahamadou Issoufou, President of the Republic of Niger.
