It was a narrow escape for Lagos Governor’s Office Correspondents LAGOCO, on Sunday as hoodlums on Lagos Island attacked the bus conveying the crew on official duty.
The crew had followed Lagos State Governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, and the Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to the palace of Oba of Lagos, Rilwan Akiolu , to cover the visit of Tinubu to the monarch on his arrival to Lagos after he won the APC presidential ticket.
Trouble however started after Tinubu finished his visit to the monarch and the convoy was on its way out of the palace of the monarch, when the official bus conveying journalists attached to the governor’s office was attacked by hoodlums.
Stones, cutlasses, and other dangerous weapons were used on the journalists by the hoodlums before the driver of the vehicle could maneuver his way out of the scene.
Among those injured were Adeola Ogunrinde of Western Post, Ayodele Olalere of Nigerian Xpress Newspaper, and several others.. The vehicle was also damaged
