The Police Command in Plateau has vowed to prosecute suspected killers of Mr Tokumbo Adeleke, the GOTV Sales Manager in Jos.
DSP Terna Tyopev, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) for the command, gave the assurance in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Friday in Jos.
NAN reports that Adeleke was murdered at his residence, No. 6 Mazaram, Behind Mustard Seed Academy, Rayfield Jos, on December 10, 2018.
Adeleke’s suspected killers were later arrested by the police on January 14 and February 18 at Bisichi in Barkin Ladi Local Government Area of the state.

But after the arrest, Adeleke family, alongside members of the public began to raise suspicion of a possibility of police granting the suspects administrative bail without charging them to court.
Tyopev, however, assured the family of the deceased and concerned citizens that, the command would not grant administrative bail to the suspects.
The PPRO explained that the command had filed charges against the suspects at the Federal High Court in Jos, stressing that it would not do anything that would jeopardise the course of justice.
He said:”If this is what people are saying, they are not being fair to us; it was through investigation that we arrested those suspects.
“We have filed charges against them at the State High Court since March 1. So how would the police turnaround to consider granting them administrative bail; it doesn’t add up, not in anyway, when charges are filed already.
“No matter how small the court is, in the case of alleged murder, you cannot consider an administrative bail; the court must take cognisance of such case
“So, I want to inform members of the public that, we are not contemplating granting them administrative bail.
“The suspects will be taken to court as soon as the charges we filed are assigned to a judge ” (NAN)
