Japan’s swimming sensation, Rikako Ikee, the first female to be picked as Most Valuable Player at 2018’s Asian Games, has been diagnosed with leukemia, she said on Tuesday.
The 18-year-old tweeted “I still cannot believe it and am in a state of confusion.

“However, it is a disease that can be cured completely if treated properly.”
Ikee said she urgently flew back from her training camp in Australia to see a doctor after feeling unwell.
She won a record six gold medals in swimming at the 2018 Asian Games in Jakarta. (NAN)
