Special Adviser to Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State on Bureau for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Jerome Tor-Shimbe, has vehemently denied being arrested nor investigated by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
The governor’s aide told journalists at an interactive session that anyone who doubts his statement should contact the EFCC.
He said his frequent visits to the EFCC was to sort out issues concerning local government staff, stressing that most of the issues had been resolved.

On the Coronavirus pandemic in the state, Tor-Shimbe said the state’s Action Committee on COVID-19 has the responsibility of overseeing activities of local government action committees on COVID-19.
He said council chairmen, which abdicate their responsibilities would be sanctioned, emphasising that in matters like security, the Bureau does not compromise.
