IPAC gets Committee for NEC Election

The Inter-Party Advisory Council of Nigeria (IPAC) in accordance with the  provisions of Articles 3.1(b)(c), 3.3(C)(B)(iii), 3.3(C)(C)(c)&(d) of the Code of Conduct for the Inter Party Advisory Council of Nigeria, 2019 (as amended), has inaugurated for the Council, a 4  Man-Central Management Committee (CMC).

A statement from the outgoing President, High Chief Peter Ameh, said the inauguration was necessitated by the urgent need for a democratic transition from the 10th National Executive Council, which tenure lapsed on the 5th of September, 2020, to the 11th National Executive Council which shall emerge through a democratic process of National Council elections.

 The 4-Man Central Management Committee, the statement disclosed, shall comprise  of the following members of the Council vis :

 A- Chief Ralph Okey Nwosu (ADC) – Chairman (Acting President)

 B- Alhaji A. A. Salam (LP) Vice Chairman (Acting Vice President)*

 C- Hon. Adekunle Rufai OmoAje – (AA) – Secretary (Acting Secretary General), and

 D- Elder Chuks Achusi (APGA) – Treasurer (Acting National Treasurer)

The Term of Reference of Central Management Committee, according to the statement shall, within the time prescribed, carry out the following duties:

1. Ensure the conduct of a free, fair and credible Executive Council Elections at the National and State levels for the 2021 IPAC Executive Council in accordance with the Code.

2. Be responsible for the day to day running of the Council affairs for a period of 4 (four) months certain and ensure an immediate, complete and mandatory handover of administration to newly elected 11th National Executive Council leadership of the Inter Party Advisory Council of Nigeria, at the expiration of the 4 (four) month period of engagement.

The 4 (four) month period as stated shall commence on Saturday, September 5, 2020 and lapse on Tuesday, February 5, 2021.

These dates remain sacrosanct  and shall not be extended by the Committee howsoever but

3. Ensure the sustenance  of fundamental values, ethical principles and strategic direction in which the Council operates as enshrined in  the Code.

4. Ensure compliance with all relevant legal and regulatory requirements as well as the Code and seek guidance around any uncertainties.

5. Ensure the execution of all actions necessary for the smooth conduct of the 2020 National Executive Council Elections.

6. Be signatories to the Council’s bank accounts for the 4 (four) month  period only and shall cease to be signatories thereto at the expiration of the 4 (four) months.

7. Submit a comprehensive audited financial report of all transactions within the period under review to the newly elected National Executive Council.

8. Nothing in the aforementioned rules of engagement shall prevent the appointed Officers from contesting the scheduled National Executive Council elections, the statement declared.
