As the Super Eagles prepare for their international friendly match against Brazil, former national team handler and Ex- Technical Director of Nigeria Football Federation, Tunde Disu, has given the Super Eagles gaffer, Gernot Rohr, tips on how to handle the Samba Boys.

The Eagles will on October 13 take on Brazil in Singapore in an international friendly match as part of build up towards strengthening the team and Disu believes it is the type of Grade A friendly that will truly benefit the national team.

According to him, the Eagles must go all out against the South Americans, avoid set pieces, unnecessary free kicks and corner kicks as well as conceding early goal, which will put pressure not only on the team but also the technical crew.

“The Brazilian national team is a very mobile side with some of the best players in the world and as such when you’re playing against such an experienced and disciplined side, you must avoid set pieces, unnecessary fouls, corner kicks or free kicks within your eighteen yard box, as that could be damaging,” Disu said.

“It’s also important for the Super Eagles to avoid conceding early goal, as that will give their opponent the necessary encouragement and confidence,” he stressed.

The former technical director stated that he looks forward to watching a very entertaining encounter, considering that Brazil will be using players like Neymar, Gabriel Jesus and William, just to mention but a few while Nigeria has also invited some of her best players for the potentially explosive cracker.

Disu who is at present the Executive Secretary of Lagos Junior League also wants Rohr to instruct whoever will mark Neymar not to give him room to operate because he would always like to go solo when team work fails.

The experienced gaffer, who was made popular by the Dammam miracle of Saudi 89’ Junior World Cup, also wants the Eagles to target early goal as that is capable of frustrating the five-time World champions.
