Internet users believe hackers responsible for Facebook apps’ crash

Internet users are convinced that hackers have hijacked the Facebook family of apps which have made the lives of millions of users miserable worldwide.
Millions of businesses depend on the Facebook platforms to thrive.
For many, communications have been cut off as WhatsApp and Messenger are among the apps hit by a yet to be determined problem.
Facebook said it’s working to restore normal services as soon as possible but it’s been over five hours since the outage occurred at the time of this report.
Nigerian users started noticing that there is a problem with WhatsApp, a popular messaging platform in the country, around 4 pm and people started frantically calling each other to find out if they’re experiencing similar challenges.
Alongside Facebook, other internet giants like Amazon also reported hitches and there is also reports in some quarters that Gmail, Google’s premium email service is also down.
So far, the only social media platform not affected is Twitter which has served as a vehicle to both Facebook and its over two billion users to pass information about what is happening.
The crash of Facebook apps has shown how dependent people are on the Mark Zuckerberg owned companies. News publishers are groaning of low visits to their sites as most depend on the platforms to drive traffic.
Internet users also said social media platforms like TikTok and Snapchat are also experiencing hitches.
