Interior Minister partners ICPC to end corruption

Minister of Interior, Hon. (Dr.) Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, has affirmed that corruption is a major threat to security.

 

 

 

To this end, Dr. Tunji-Ojo has initiated a strategic partnership with the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) to tackle corruption head-on.
The strategic partnership was initiated on Tuesday, when Dr. Tunji-Ojo paid a courtesy visit to the ICPC Headquarters, accompanied by the Permanent Secretary, Dr. Aishetu Gogo Ndayako, top officials of the Ministry and its Agencies.

 

 

 

 

 

The Minister further emphasised on the need for proactive measures to combat corruption, advocating not only for strategy on detection but also on prevention of corruption.

Recognising the critical role of capacity building, the Minister highlighted the need for knowledge transfer in tandem with the ICPC.

 

 

 

 

In response, Chairman of the ICPC, Dr. Musa Adamu Aliyu, acknowledged the Ministry’s vital role in Nigeria and affirmed unwavering support towards shared objectives.

 

 

 

 

 

He emphasised the need for the deployment of technology in anti-corruption efforts.
