Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State has vowed not be distracted in spite of the security challenges in the state, stressing that he would continue with the development strides of his administration.
Governor Sule made this known while playing host to traditional rulers from across the state who came to pay him the traditional Sallah homage, at the Government House, on Monday.
The governor, who used the opportunity of the visit to condole with the Emirs of Lafia, HRH Justice Sidi Bage (rtd), Nasarawa, HRH Alhaji Ibrahim Usman Jibril and the Osu Ajiri, HRH Alhaji Halilu Bala Usman, over the recent killing of Mr. Amos Ewa Obere, the Chief of Odu by unknown gun men, said the main focus of his administration is to attract opportunities to the state and he won’t be distracted.
Governor Sule also explained that already, the state is beginning to enjoy goodwill from across the country as exemplified by the recent listings of Nasarawa State as being among the top four states in the federation to attract investments, as well as one of the 22 states known for their transparency and accountability, with a special package earmarked for the state.
Said he, “With all these goodwill coming to us, we cannot allow our state to be distracted, not by any kinds of rumours, insecurity or any individuals not matter how highly placed.
“We won’t be distracted, we will remain focused, otherwise we will not achieve our development agenda,” the governor stated.
The governor emphasised that his administration will not be distracted but that it will continue on the path of development, irrespective of the prevailing security challenges.
He equally used the opportunity to commend President Muhammadu Buhari, as well as the heads of security agencies, for supporting the state whenever necessary.
Governor Sule further commended the traditional rulers for their prayers and their continued support, not only to the previous administration of Senator Umaru Tanko Al-Makura, but also to the present administration.
The governor expressed gratitude to the royal fathers for their support to government in the face of the COVID-19 challenge, aimed at controlling and containing the pandemic.

Early in his opening remarks, the Emir of Lafia and Chairman, Nasarawa State Council of Chiefs, HRH Justice Sidi Bage (rtd), decried the recent murder of the traditional ruler, calling on the Governor not to be distracted by the security challenge.
“There is no doubt that there is a lot of distractions. Some people who decided to remain on the side of evil, continue to constitute distractions to the good work that you are doing to the people of the state.
“On behalf of all of us seated here, we want to let you know, that no matter how much they think they will constitute an obstacle, they will not distract you,” the Emir of Lafia stated.
The royal father blamed people from outside the state for instigating the violence supported by some unpatriotic indigenes.
He pledged total support by the traditional council to enable the state government succeed in addressing the security challenge confronting the state.
