Nigeria’s in-form youngster in the Portuguese Pro-National League, Ossai Stephen Nosike, at the weekend, added to his goals with Grupo Desportivo Vilar de Perdizes as he hammered his 19th goal of the season.
Nosike said his latest goal is even more special for obvious reason since it sealed victory for Vilar de Perdizes in the top of the table encounter against first-positioned Villa Real.
“I feel so great about this goal against Villa Real,” noted Nosike who incidentally scored 29 goals for SC Vila Real before crossing over to Vilar de Perdizes.
“Goal scoring is my work and I will always deliver by the grace of God I would always deliver.”
Discovered by Umuekwune Ngor-Okpala-based Brighter Tomorrow FC in Imo State, Nosike left the shores of the country unheralded but he since became a scoring sensation since his arrival in Portugal.
Rejected by FC Porto, the 20-year-old signed for Vilar Real where he remarkably scored 29 goals en route to Vilar De Perdizes as he eyes the opportunity of playing in the national team colours.
“I have had the opportunity of playing in the same team with the likes of David Enogela, Agor Chukwudi and Ernest Agenor who were part of the team that won FIFA U-17 World Cup with the Golden Eaglets in 2015 and that shows the kind of quality that I possess too,” stated the brawny striker who is a great admirer of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Mauro Icardi and Robert Lewandowski. “My dream is to play for my great country, Nigeria. I will be grateful if only I will be giving the opportunity to showcase what I have.”
