The member representing Ahiazu Mbaise State Constituency in the Imo State House of Assembly, Hon. Sam Otuibe, has registered 400 students free for the 2020 Joint Admissions Matriculations Board (JAMB) Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
Speaking during the free UTME Registration exercise at Ahiazu Mbaise Council Hall, Afor Oru, Hon. Otuibe, who is also the House Committee Chairman on Public Utilities and Environment, charged the beneficiaries to take their studies serious and not misuse the opportunity given them.
He stated that the move was in fulfilment of his campaign promise, adding that the gesture for the free UTME Registration was borne out of the need to alleviate the plights of parents and encourage the youths further their education for a brighter future.
He said the quarterly empowerment of his people was to appreciate them for voting him in to represent them in the Imo State House of Assembly and more so for their continuing support.
He, therefore, guaranteed them effective presentation while restating his vow never to let them down.

He enjoined the UTME beneficiaries shun distractions, engage their time meaningfully and put up their best to gain admission into tertiary institution of their choice.
Hon. Otuibe had earlier on paid the 2020 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASCE) registration fee for an indigent orphan, Miss. Esther Madugba from Umuololo Umuoma Ogbe.
He also gave Acceptance fee to three newly admitted undergraduates in the three tertiary institutions of the state just as he promised to pay the school fees for four best candidates in the UTME.
Others who benefitted from his largesse included 12 market women whom he empowered with the sum of N20,000.00 each to boost their trade.
Expressing her appreciation with tears of joy rolling down her cheeks, Miss. Madugba said she almost lost the hope of taking WASCE as she had nobody to assist her and thanked Hon. Otuibe for being a Good Samaritan indeed.
The lawmaker, in the same vein, has undertaking the treatment of an eight-year-old girl, with severe fire burnt fire, little Miss Chinwemere Ejimadu of Umuakali Obodo Ahiara in Ahiazu Mbaise council.
Little Chinwemere said she was putting up fire to cook at her Mistress home in Nnarambia Ahiara when the lit matchstick fall on her lap and her dress caught fire which engulf her body, leaving her with severe injuries on back and minor wounds in the front.
Narrating the ordeal, the mother of the victim said her fear was that if nobody comes to their rescue, the daughter could remain permanently deformed as both upper arms now glue to the body and stretches the flesh each time she try raising her hands up.
It could be recalled that during the 2019 Christmas celebration, the lawmaker had empowered women and youths with various items ranging from cash to wrapper, sewing machines, motorcycles etc.
