Imo Labour Party holds stakeholders meeting as Achonu charges leaders to be faithful, steadfast 

Sen. Athan Achonu (Akuruoulo Ndigbo), Labour Party, LP, governorship candidate in the November 11 Imo elections joined the leadership and party faithful at the state stakeholders meeting in Owerri, Imo State, and charged them to remain faithful and steadfast. 

 

 

 

 

A statement by the Athan Achonu Media Centre disclosed that it was a gathering of ardent, ‘Obidient’  leaders, who shared in the common zeal of rejigging and strengthening the Party.

 

 

 

 

Achonu, while speaking thanked and poured encomium on all the party faithful, who have been contributing in one way or another to sustain the Labour Party.

He urged them to remain steadfast, as the task of rescuing Imo State and Nigeria in general lies on the shoulders of the LP.

 

 

 

Akuruoulo Ndigbo, as he’s fondly called, charged party leadership and faithful on the best way to strengthen the party and mobilise mass party membership for the future of the Party.

 

 

 

 

He described LP as being the only party with the key, wisdom and genuine ideas to proffer solutions to the challenges of the Igbo nation.

He told the large crowd of members from all the wards in the state that the party has decided to commence mass membership registration across all political wards in the state, adding that the funds required for the
exercise has been made available.

 

 

 

 

On his part, the Imo LP Chairman, Sir Callistus Ihejiagwa, thanked the party faithful for their steadfastness even in the light of the frustrating political landscape, which he accused the APC of sponsoring.

 

 

 

 

 

 Ihejiagwa said that the LP indeed won the last election but the APC in collaboration with the INEC stole the mandat.

 

 

 

 

 

However, he reassured the people that the party would reclaim its mandate from the APC.

 

 

 

 

Present at the stakeholders meeting were the Labour Party National Leadership ably led by the National Chairman, Barr. Julius Abure; party leaders in the state, members of the National Assembly, Hon. Sir Tochukwu Okere Member, representing Owerri Federal Constituency, Hon Attorney Mathew Nwogu, Member, representing Aboh Mbaise/Ngor Okpala Federal Constituency, Hon Clinton Amadi (Deputy Minority Leader, IMHA), and numerous leaders of the party across the Senatorial Zones of Imo State.
