Hon. Sir Tochukwu Chinedum Okere, the Member, representing Owerri Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, has been appointed the head the Campaign Council of the Labour Party governorship candidate for the November 11 poll in Imo State, Sen. Athan Nneji Achonu.
A press release from the LP office in Owerri, also announced that Hon. Mathew Nwogu, Hon. Chikwem Onuoha and Hon. Chika Mmadumere were appointed as Deputy Chairmen of the Council.
Achonu also appointed Chimamkpam Anyankpa as Campaign Spokesperson alongside Hon Uche Ogbuagu, Dr. Nnaemeka Obiareri among others to beef up media visibility.

The statement explained that the committee members would form a formidable team that would ensure the success of the Labour Party and its candidate in the election.
It added: “The fears of the opposition come as a result of his well-known capacity to maximise the potential of the ‘Obidients’ movement and their numerous support groups to mobilise rural communities and urban electorates for electoral victory at the polls.”

The LP harped on the advantage Okere, the lawmaker, representing the most populous federal constituency in the state, would add to it’s chances.
It said: “Owerri Federal Constituency comprises of Owerri North, Owerri West and Owerri Municipal, three local government areas, accommodating highest number of workforce and residents in Imo State.
“Hon. Tochukwu Okere who expressed profound readiness to take the bull by the horns has assumed duty for this gigantic but achievable politicking task.”
