Newly-established University of Ilesa, Ilesa Osun State, has appointed Omooba Obajide Ilugbo (LLB, Mnipr, mnrpa, MSM), as the first Director, Public Relation of the institution on November 14, 2022.
Until his appointment, he was the Chief Information Officer and Head of the Public and External Relations Unit, Office of the Vice-Chancellor, Igbinedion University Okada, a position he has held since October 2008 thereby making him the longest serving Head of Public Relations unit of any University in Nigeria.
Omooba Obajide Ilugbo hails from the Owa-Onigbo ruling House of Otan Ayegbaju in Boluwaduro Local Government of Osun State. He was born on the 19th of September, 1970.
He is a graduate of Law from the Oba Erediauwa College of Law, Igbinedion University Okada (LLB.,2019) with a solid background in Mass Communication From The Polytechnic of Ibadan (OND, 1990) and Ogun State Polytechnic (HND, 2004).
In 2011, Omooba Obajide Ilugbo sat for the *CuPE UK Prince2 Project Management Certification* examination and passed excellently thereby qualifying him as a Project Management Certified Administrator.
He is a member of the *Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR)* and former State Chairman of the *Institute of Strategic Management of Nigeria (ISMN)*, Edo State Chapter. He is also an active member of the *Advertisers Regulatory Council of Nigeria, (ARCON)* in Edo State and is today being admitted into the *Doctoral Research Fellowship of our institute, the Corporate Institute of Strategic Research*.
Omooba Obajide Ilugbo is a bundle of creativity and a man of many parts with undiluted energy; very friendly, easy to relate with, tireless, dogged, intuitive, innovative, resourceful, constructive and above all, God fearing.
He is married to Mrs Anne Nwayinbunwa Ilugbo (nee Odogwu) from Ibuso town in Oshomili North Local Government of Delta State and their marriage is blessed with three children, two boys and a girl.
