The Lagos State Government has warned residents against spreading false information on Social Media Platforms concerning the fire incident that occurred, on Thursday, at Iganmu.
The Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Gbenga Omotoso who was at the site of the scene on Friday to represent Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu noted that a tanker carrying Premium Motor Spirit, popularly called Petrol tailed back while attempting to climb the Orile-Iganmu bridge and subsequently hit a tuck which sparked fire.

The Commissioner corrected insinuations that the accident was as a result of bad road, adding the state government has continued to carry out palliative works on the road.
Omotoso, who was accompanied by his transportation counterpart, Oluwaseun Osiyemi and Commissioner for Special Duties Inter-Governmental Relations, Gbenga Oyerinde, said there was no loss of life and injuries recorded as occupants escaped unhurt, but 11 vehicles were affected by the inferno.
He commended all the first responders for prompt response to mitigate the effect of the fire and gave assurance that the site would soon be cleared completely of affected Vehicles to ensure free flow of traffic in the axis.
