Mr. Babatunde Hunpe, the APC House of Representatives member-elect for Badagry, has dedicated his victory to God and good people of the constituency.
In an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Badagry, Hunpe, an aide to Governor Akinwunmi Ambode on Environment, promised to reciprocate the massive votes he received from the people of Badagry and environs.
“I want to thank all good people of Badagry for the support and trust they have in me right from the time of primaries till the present time.

“I dedicate the victory to God and good people of Badagry because they are the ones that have the mandate,” he said.
Hunpe, however, denied losing his Ajara polling unit to Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as reported in some online media.
“We won in all units, wards here in Badagry. I can tell you authoritatively that APC has 134 votes against PDP’s 59 votes in polling unit 001, Owolabani White House, where I voted.
“I can say authoritatively that I won in my unit for President Muhammadu Buhari and for Sen. Olamilekan Adeola.
“Ever since we have been voting in Badagry, the 2019 election is the first time APC defeated PDP with such a wider margin,” he said.
NAN reports that Prof. Denloye Olatokunbo, INEC Returning Officer for Badagry Federal Constituency in the February 23 election, had earlier declared Hunpe winner, having polled 23,309 votes to beat his closest PDP rival, Seyon Hunyinbo, who got 15,662 votes. (NAN)
