About 1000 indigent people from all parts of Zamfara state have so far benefitted from the ongoing diocesan medical outreach to provide free healthcare services organised by the Anglican Diocese of Gusau.
The Bishop of the Gusau Diocese (Anglican Communion), Rt. Rev. John Garba Danbinta said the church embarked on the free medical programme to contribute to improving the health need of the people regardless of their religious affiliations.

“We are providing free medical services which include general medical checks, drugs, eye glasses and surgeries for those in need both Christians and Muslims. The free medical services is for all those who want because you cannot force a person to accept what he or she needs but does not want it from you”, he said.
Danbinta added that the medical outreach which started last year will be sustained as a yearly event to reduce the health burden of the people.
“Last year, we spent over N1.5 million to purchase drugs which was given out free to those who attended the programme and for this year we are still buying even today we sent for more drugs”, he said.
