The domestic staff of the murdered popular Ondo based caterer, Olakunbi Adene, has told the police how they murdered the late woman in her residence.
According to them, they used cutlasses and knives on her after she made them a sumptuous meal.
In their confessional statement to the police, the suspects confessed that they killed their boss after she prepared a delicious meal for them two days after she celebrated her 54th birthday party.
They narrated that late Olakunbi expressed satisfaction with their diligence in performing their duties and decided to treat them to a meal to appreciate them but they killed her after eating the meal.
Olakunbi was killed by three of her domestic staff; the driver, personal assistant and another friend.
One of the suspects told the police that they went to their late boss’ house on the fateful day and after eating the delicious food they descended on her, gagged her mouth and used two big cutlasses they brought along to cut her head while she was pleading to them to spare her life.
They added that her cry for help was dwarfed by the noise of the generator which prevented neighbors from hearing her cry as the incident took place between 6pm and 7 pm.
The suspects further confessed to the police that they ‘covered the woman’s head with a duvet and continued hitting her head after which they cut her wrist and leg. They also started stabbing her stomach, chest and breasts making her intestines come out while the body was full of scars.’
In an attempt to cover their tracks, the police said the suspects went to the kitchen and lit the gas with matches then opened the gas from the cylinder and emptied the gas in order to make it explode, burn the whole house to give the impression she died in a fire incident.
Their plan didn’t work as the cylinder failed to explode.
The police had arrested the suspects after tracking the deceased two android phones stolen by the domestic after killing her.
‘’The first suspect was tracked to Idanre, where the driver was said to have fled while the second android phone was tracked to Akure,” the police said.
