A 61-year-old father, Eke Kanu, is in police net for allegedly having carnal knowledge of his 19-year-old daughter (name withheld) against her will, impregnating her and also procured an abortion pill for her.
The incident reportedly happened at Ebute Road area of Igbogbo, in Ikorodu, Lagos State, and was reported at the Ikorodu Police Station.
Preliminary investigations by the police revealed that Kanu had been having sexual relationship with his daughter from a young age.
It was learnt that on June 12, 2020, the suspect engaged the daughter in a romp, which did to go down well with the girl, who started shouting for help.

Neighbours heard her screaming for help and alerted the police, who came and arrested the suspect.
According to the Lagos Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Bala Elkana, in a statement on Sunday, the survivor had been taken to Mirabel Centre, for forensic examination, and medical attention.
He also said that the suspect had been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for further investigation and prosecution.
Elkana said, “The survivor stated that her father started having sexual intercourse with her when she was small and threatened to deal with her if she tells anybody.
“She further stated that, when her father discovered that she was pregnant, he took her to a chemist where she was administered with some drugs and injection to abort the pregnancy.
“She was taken to Mirabel Center by the Police, for medical attention and forensic examination.
“The suspect was arrested and taken to State Criminal Investigation Department, Panti, for discreet investigation and diligent prosecution.”

In a related development, the Bariga Division of the Lagos State Police Command has arrested a 33-year-old man, for defiling a 14-year-old girl (name withheld).
Elkana said the incident happened at Amodu Street, in Bariga, on June 26, 2020.
He said the survivor was also taken to Mirabel Centre, for medical treatment and forensic examination.
He stated that the suspect had also confessed to the crime, and would be charged to court soon.
