In what could be likened to a scene from a house of horror, a man has allegedly killed his son who had reportedly killed his mother for suspected ritual purposes.
The horrific drama on Wednesday took place in Iheaka community in Igbo-Eze South Local Government Area of Enugu State.
It was gathered when a spare parts trader in Lagos, Kenneth Ugwu, came to the village to visit his parents, nobody suspected foul play not until he followed his mother to the farm ostensibly to assist her harvest palm fruits but beheaded her instead.
“When they got to the farm, rather than cut the palm fruit for the mother, Kenneth cut-off the mother’s head and put it in a black polythene bag,” a source in the community volunteered.

On discovering his son’s heinous crime, Kenneth’s father, Cyril Ugwu, also allegedly shot dead his son for killing his wife.
The source continued, “When he got home, the father inquired about the whereabouts of his wife, but he reportedly lied to him that she was on her way home. He quickly rushed to the bathroom to take a bath and leave for Lagos.”
His father became suspicious of his sudden decision to return to Lagos. He checked the content of the polythene bag and saw his wife’s severed head.
The man was besides himself with rage and shot his son to dead, as he stepped out to leave for Lagos.
Understandably, the tragic incident threw the entire community into great mourning and lamentation. Men went into the bush in search of the remaining parts of the slain woman body. Her headless body was later found dumped on a footpath with several machete cuts all over her body.
