‘Holy Semen’ deliverance: Imo High Court sentenced pastor to 8 years imprisonment for raping church member
An Owerri High Court, Imo State presided by Justice T.N. Nzeukwu has sentenced a pastor, Desmond Eke, to eight years imprisonment for raping a church member under the pretence of conducting a deliverance for her using his ‘holy semen.’
The convict was the founder of Deliverance Ministry of The Good Shepherd, Umuihita Avu, Owerri West Local Government Area.
He was found guilty of raping the 25 year-old mother of four children who was a wife of a member of his church claiming that a marine spirit was disturbing her family and needed to be exorcised through his ‘holy semen.’
According to the prosecution, the convict administered a substance on the victim in the guise of holy water and anointing oil, which made the woman unconscious.
The prosecution further told the court that the woman woke up to find herself in the middle of deep penetration by the pastor, and when the woman resisted, ‘Pastor Eke told her that having s£x with her was an essential part of the deliverance, as his holy sperm, upon ejaculation, would destroy and liberate her from the chains of her spirit husband and marine spirit.’
In his judgement, the court convicted Eke on the charge of breaching trust and raping the woman, but discharged him on the third count which bothers on inflicting injuries during the rape.
According to the judge, the victim was not completely conscious during the incident so there was no way injuries could result since she didn’t put up any resistance.
The case was reported to the police by a civil society organisation, Onurube Foundation and despite all pressure and threat, they followed it up until judgment was delivered.
