The death of popular radio presenter, Dan Foster, has sent a tremor down the entertainment industry in Nigeria.
Dan Foster’s death came as a shock to most Nigerians who said they fell in love with radio because of his pleasant personality on air.
Celebrities and Nigerians from all works of life expressed dismay that despite sounding exuberant, not many knew the OAP was ill.
Author and social media personality, Japhet Omojuwa said that growing up, he listened to Dan Foster on Lagos Radio, Cool Fm.
“Dan Foster’s voice was a huge part of my growing up. His voice on Cool FM. His playfulness. His kindness. Long before I saw what he looked like, his voice communicated his personality in a way no picture needed to. This one is one loss too many. This is a really sad day.
“When Dan Foster left Cool FM I was shocked because I didn’t even know there was a difference between Dan Foster and Cool FM. He was Cool FM. By then though, I had stopped doing regular radio,” Omojuwa said on Twitter.

Former host of ‘Who Wants to Be a Millionaire’, Frank Edoho said he confirmed the death of Dan Foster from a friend.
“I just got off the phone, my friend Oscar confirmed that Dan Foster has passed on. This is a very very dark year. How can I overcome this unending melancholy. Rest in Peace, Dear Friend, ” Edoho said with broken heart emoji.
Senator Ben Murray-Bruce said the death of Dan Foster made him sad as he was his “excellent friend”.
A Cool Fm presenter, the station where Dan Foster worked when he came to Nigeria in the early 2000s, Dotun said Dan Foster helped him save his job at the station.
Comedian Abovi Ugboma, popularly known as as Bovi said Dan Foster made Lagos fun for him as he stopped him from running back to Delta State because of hardship.
“When I moved to Lagos in November 2003, Dan Foster was one of the reasons I didn’t run back home to delta state. I tuned into cool fm one morning and Dan made me love radio. Rip big dawg! I’m sad you left. But I’m happy your mark remains forever, ” Bovi said.
The popular OAP worked at Cool Fm for several years before moving to Inspiration Fm and City Fm.
He was last heard on Classic Fm where he presented their late-night show.
