Unknown gunmen have struck again in Kwara State, reportedly abducting the two wives of one man at Ikerin Opin in Ekiti Local Government Area of the state.
It was gathered that the kidnappers had placed a N15 million ransom demand on their heads before they would be released.
The incident happened late last Sunday night when the residents of the town were asleep.
However, sources told journalists on Tuesday that the unknown gunmen stormed the town at about midnight on Sunday but went straight into the family’s residence, breaking down every barrier before abducting the two women.
Security operatives in the area including men of the Civil Defence, Police and Vigilante groups were said to have been deployed to comb the thick forests on a search and rescue mission.
A senior NSCDC officer in the state, who sought anonymity, confirmed the kidnap attacks to journalists in Ilorin on Tuesday, saying: “We have been working with other security agencies like police and Vigilantes to rescue the two victims.”
