Rampaging gunmen have killed one person and abducted six others in Koma community of Adamawa State.
The victims included a police inspector, a councillor for Koma Ward, two wives of a prominent hunter and two other persons
The victims were identified as Inspector Yakubu; Hon Bulus Geoffrey; Hammanjida Hammanjalo; Hajiya Amina and two wives of a popular hunter, Mallam Hassan.
They were abducted from their houses night raid of the community in Jada Local Government Area in the early hours of Thursday.
The raiders, who arrived the community carefully selected their victims dragged them away from their homes. They also reportedly killed one of the residents of the area, who was simply identified as Wawu.
According to a source: “Those villains calmly carried out their evil intent and left, as freely as they came.
“They visited the house of Malam Hassan who is one of the popular hunters in the area probably to kill him but they didn’t meet him in his house. So they abducted his two wives.”
Spokesman of Adamawa State Police Command, Sulaiman Nguroje, DSP, confirmed the incident, adding that the police were collaborating with local hunters and trailing the abductors. He assured that the victims would be freed.
