Two policemen were on Wednesday killed, after gunmen attacked police patrol vehicles at Mkpologwu, Aguata Local Government Area and Omogho in Orumba North Local Government Area of Anambra State.
While two other policemen critically injured in the attack are said to be struggling for their lives at an undisclosed hospital, the Anambra State Commissioner of Police (CP), Monday Kuryas, has ordered an investigation into the attack.
It was gathered that the gunmen who drove in both a salon car and a black Mercedes Benz 4Matic SUV, opened fire on the policemen patrol vehicles deployed to patrol the two locations.
CP Kuryas, who visited the troubled spot, directed operatives to find out out the circumstances surrounding the incident and bring perpetrators of the dastardly act to book.
