Gunmen invade Kwara, kidnap lawmaker’s wife, 2 kids

Gunmen, on Monday, struck in Kwara State and kidnapped the wife and two children of a lawmaker in the state House of Assembly.
It was gathered that the gunmen invaded the residence of Hon. Lawal Ayanshola Soliu, the lawmaker representing Ipaiye/Malete/Olooru of Moro Local Government in the Assembly and a ducted the victims.

The gunmen, who were reportedly armed to the teeth and wielding AK-47 rifles, shot sporadically into the air to scare neighbours away before snatching the victims and escaped.
However, one of the kidnappers had reportedly contacted the family, saying they were in the forest and trying to decide on the ransom to be paid.
Ajayi Okasanmi, the state police spokesperson, confirmed the incident.
“Details are still sketchy, but I will get back as soon as we have comprehensive details of the incident,” he said.
