Gunmen attack Imo monarchs, kill three

Some traditional rulers in Imo State were on Tuesday attacked by unidentified gunmen, who opened fire on them,  killing three.

Some other monarchs sustained varying degrees of injuries when the gunmen struck, as the traditional rulers were holding a stakeholders’ meeting at  Nnenasa, Njaba  Local Council headquarters of the state.
The Obi 1 of Okwudor Autonomous Community, Eze E. Anayochukwu Durueburuo, and Eze Sampson Osunwa of Ihebineowerre Autonomous Community were feared to be among the monarchs confirmed dead.
The police spokesperson in the state, Mike Abattam, confirmed the attack, adding that the police had swung into action and  begun an investigation to unravel circumstances surrounding the attack to arrest the perpetrators of the heinous act and bring them to book.
