In a rather bizarre circumstance, suspected gunmen have abducted the corpse from Ameze Owerre, Umabor community in Nsukka local government area of Enugu State.
The corpse of the deceased, one Ugwuanyi Israel was abducted along 9th Mile Road in the Umuoka community in the Udi Local Government Area of Enugu State while being transported from Lagos to Nsukka for funeral arrangements.
Apart from the corpse, the kidnappers also snatched all the family members conveying it.
It was gathered that the vehicle conveying the corpse was ambushed by the kidnappers, who abducted it alongside the people accompanying it, including the driver.
The kidnappers have also reportedly contacted the family and demanded a N50 million ransom.
However, there is no reaction yet from the state police command.
