For the second time in three weeks, abductors have struck at Isiala Mbano Local Government Area of Imo State, abducting one man.
Only three weeks ago, two persons were kidnapped in the community.
In the latest onslaught, unknown armed gunmen abducted a businessman, identified simply as Akunaebuaju, thereby throwing the community into fear and confusion, especially because in January this year, one Ugochukwu Oguine, a businessman, was also killed same the same community.
According to an eyewitness, who preferred not to be identified: “The gunmen shot sporadically into the air to scare onlookers and zoomed off with the man in their vehicle.”
Spokesman for Imo State Police Command, Orlando Ikeokwu, confirmed the abduction, adding that the police have commenced investigations and efforts to track down the abductors.
