The Southern Nigeria Youth Congress (SNYC) have called on every Southern leader, aggrieved party and candidates who have gone to court to reconsider their actions in the overall interest of the Southern Region.
The group stated this during their World Press Conference on the State and Stake of Southern Nigeria Region in the Nigeria Project held at the NUJ Press Center, Maryam Babaginda Way, Asaba.
According to the statement read by the President General, Southern Nigeria Youth Congress Comrade Emordi Kelvin Ugochukwu on behalf of the group, “We are specifically calling on Peter Obi to take his defeat in good fate and withdrew his case in the interest of the country and the region.Furthermore, the group commended Chief Government Ekpomupolo AKA Tompolo and his Tantita Security Services Company for the efforts put so far in sanitizing the region.SNYC appreciated all the Southern leaders and stakeholders helping Nigeria in the battle to curtail economic sabotage through crude oil theft and bunkering.

The Group also urged the Federal Government through the Federal Ministries of Environment, Petroleum, Niger Delta Affairs, NIMASA and NNPC to immediately commence the cleanup of Ogoni and other communities in the Niger Delta affected by oil spillage and as well upscale youth economic empowerment in the region to curtail restiveness.
“On Police brutality in southern region, we want to state unequivocally that the Southern Nigeria region are the biggest victims of police brutality, this will no longer be condoned or tolerated.it is on this note that the Southern Nigeria Youth Congress is setting up a special task force to partner with human right bodies and other relevant stake holders on police brutality and human right related issues .We must therefore warned that every officer who is involved in the act of brutalizing civilians within the region should stop forthwith.
However, we wish to also called on the inspector general of police to intensify efforts to curb this disturbing menace within the Police rank and files as any further brutality of our civilian brothers/Sisters will be met with equal force of redress.
The group further stressed that youths should be law-abiding and be of best behavior.
